The realization of the Next Generation Industrial Parks is one of our primary goals. Marubeni has been endeavoring to develop and operate high-quality industrial parks by leveraging advanced technologies to promote eco-friendliness and digital solutions to provide convenience. Our continuous dedication and contribution to the industrial park business is highly valued by our customers.
MM2100 Industrial Town has developed and introduced a new service portal app in November 2021 to deliver improved service and experience for the locators.
The locators can check the details of their monthly bills, such as water and sewage, which is calculated based on the water usage and drainage data collected from their smart meters, and administrative fees online by using the new app’s digital invoice capability. This initiative to achieve the digital transformation of management and operation of the industrial park was highly regarded by the Indonesian government, and the park has received the Special INDI 4.0 AWARD 2021 in the Smart Industrial Estate Category of the INDI 4.0 AWARD, organized by the country’s Ministry of Industry.
In addition to the services for the locators, we are also developing new services for the workers and employers of MM2100, such as a commuter bus sharing service and an information service to reach the available healthcare facility, and some of these services are currently undergoing a demonstration test.
Since its establishment, MM2100 Industrial Town has been committed to ensuring community and eco-friendly management for over 30 years and in 2020, the park became one of the first industrial parks to be selected for the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Program (GEIPP) in Indonesia, initiated by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry. GEIPP is a program aimed to spread the idea of “eco-industrial parks” that UNIDO proposes and can only be applied to the industrial parks that are considered an appropriate role model of this concept. For example, the wastewater treatment facility in MM2100 has installed an innovative technology that uses vegetation to create an optimal environment where the bacteria can efficiently purify wastewater. Under the GEIPP, we further plan to conduct a demonstration test in MM2100 which aims at reducing environmental impact, saving energy, and improving production and operational efficiency.
Marubeni first stepped into overseas industrial park business in the late 1980s, when the Japanese manufacturing companies’ overseas business expansion accelerated after the sharp appreciation of the yen triggered by the Plaza Accord in 1985. Since then, we have engaged in 8 industrial park projects in 7 countries by carefully observing and adapting to the changes in each country’s political and economic climate. With our rich experience and expertise in the industrial park business sector, we will support manufacturing businesses with their overseas expansion plans and continue to contribute to the development of these countries’ economy and local communities.
